Working with children is the most rewarding profession for me. I enjoy working alongside children and supporting them to reach their full potential whilst maintaining their individuality, uniqueness and developing their independence. Having studied Early Childhood Care & Education for four years and receiving a B.A degree, it's clear to see how many benefits a quality early years service, like Little Learners can give to a child. I am a big supporter of the Ethos here at little Learners and will continue to include the arts, dance and music as part of a child's development. I am very proud to be part of such a fantastic team who work to not only support the children but their families too!'

After completing a degree in Music and English at St. Patrick’s College, Claire conducted her post-graduate studies at St. Nicholas Montessori College where she graduated with first class honours in Montessori Early Childhood Education. After teaching in Dublin for a couple of years, Claire moved to Myanmar to help establish a new preschool for Burmese children. The school was one of the first of its kind in Myanmar to embrace a child led, play based curriculum and Claire is very proud to have been part of this project. During her time abroad, Claire also regularly gave workshops and training to both Burmese and expat teachers working in the field of early education. On return to Ireland, Claire was delighted to find that Little Learners had an opening for a Montessori teacher and was even more delighted when Nessa hired her! "Little Learners allows to me to combine my love of the creative arts with my passion for working with young children using the Montessori method. I am a trained musical theatre performer and regularly draw on my theatrical training in the classroom by using role play, music, and drama to reinforce the children’s learning".
Toby is the school dog. He belongs to Claire in the office. He goes to collect the children from the local schools. During the day he can be found visiting the children in the preschool, they all love him. Outside of Little Learners, Toby is a therapy dog with Irish Therapy Dogs.
I have always wanted to work with young children. Initially I studied paediatric nursing, before realising education was where my passion is. I truly believe that early education lays a very important foundation for young children and feel privileged to be part of it. I love working with children to find their interest and what motivates them and planning a curriculum around this. I am also lucky enough to be able to share my love of the Irish language with the children I teach.Little Learners is the perfect balance of learning, fun and creativity and it is a pleasure to work as part of such an innovative team.
"I am a qualified Montessori teacher, graduated from St. Nicholas Montessori College with a first class honours degree in Montessori Education. I have always wanted to work with children. I am very passionate about the Montessori method as it allows me to guide children to lead their own learning through individual and group work, while encouraging children to develop life skills at their own pace. I pride myself in being an astute observer, identifying children's individual personality, interest and skills and incorporating them into the learning environment. Little Learners ethos allows for children to be creative, active and enjoy learning. It is a privilege to work in such a constructive learning environment"
I absolutely love what I do and take great pride in supporting children to become competent and confident learners. Working alongside children on a daily basis has to be the most fascinating and rewarding profession I could pursue. I'm a firm believer in providing children with the tools to 'do it yourself'; the sense of achievement a child feels when mastering something such as putting on a coat, cannot be replicated. l am a very creative person and love to bring this creativity into the classroom, from making my own materials for lessons to teaching children to have a passion to create. As a recent graduate I feel extremely lucky to be working with Little Learners, to work alongside such a caring and supportive team is amazing. Also, I feel it is very important to provide children with the space to be active in their learning, inquisitive and just plain silly sometimes.
Educating and caring for children has always been something I aspired to do. I think it’s a joy to witness a child’s development into a confident and independent being and it’s something I really value about the profession. I was lucky enough to be employed in Little Learners almost immediately after completing the Early Childhood Education degree in DIT. It’s a place where the happiness of the children is at the forefront. Each child is valued, respected and encouraged to be their true selves. I am delighted to be a part of the fantastic team within Little Learners!
Little Learners gives me the platform that I have always wanted, to work with children in a fun, creative learning environment. I have 8 years’ experience as an early year’s educator, my passion for teaching children grows more every day. I have such enthusiasm and high energy, I use this skill in my teaching to bring out the best in children. I love how individual we are in little learners we stand out from all the rest. Pre-school is such an important aspect of a child’s life, that is why I thrive to make the experience enjoyable. I have the pleasure of watching children grow and develop as confident individuals in my care. I feel blessed to be apart of little learners and can truly say I love my job.
Andrea has an early years teaching degree and primary teaching degree. " Since I was a child, I knew I wanted to dedicate my life helping children in their learning, I have a positive attitude to work in challenging situations. I have 7 years experience, working in different countries such as Spain, France and Chile. I am highly motivated and full of energy to support children to achieve their full potential and enabling them to develop self-confidence and self-esteem. I love the atmosphere and the team in Little Learners".
After finishing my studies back in Spain I was given the opportunity to work doing what I love here in Ireland. I think is interesting for the children to learn about different languages and cultures, so I am always willing to introduce spanish vocabulary as it's my mothertongue. I also believe that making activities using art and music is the best way for the children to express themselves in an exciting way. I love what I do and I always try to give my 110% so that children enjoy their time in school.
I first discovered that working with children was my passion when I began volunteering with children with additional needs as a teenager. Seeing the difference that an adult’s support and encouragement can make to a child’s confidence led me to pursue a career in early childhood care and education. I have since been lucky enough to join the Little Learner’s team, where I have the privilege of working with children during the formative years of their lives and helping to instil in them a lifelong love of learning. It is a genuine pleasure to work in an environment where each child is valued as a unique individual and is encouraged to reach their full potential.
"I am delighted to be working in Little Learners. I love the children, the team and the creative and positive atmosphere that everybody helps to create. I have a Bachelors Degree in Social Care (IT Tallaght, Dublin) and a Child Care and Youth Work degree from home which is Germany (Bodelschwingh Berufskolleg, Bielefeld). I have always loved the company of children. Children are able to see the world with eyes full of joy at the little things in life, unlike many of the grown ups among us. Creating a warm and non judgemental environment for a child to learn and grow in, is what for me personally my job is all about. My priority is to teach the children empathy and the courage to do what they love to do, with kindness and confidence".
Luke is one of our Afterschool Leaders in ABCD and also runs the St Pats Playclub. “I decided long before I went to college I wanted to work with children. I've always had a passion for working with younger people and it's an area I was determined to get into later in life. I studied Deaf Studies in Trinity College, Dublin with that in mind. I knew having a degree in something so unique and in an area so specialized would help me achieve my aim. Having realized my goal of working with children in Little Learners I couldn't be happier. It's the ideal environment for me, one I consider myself very lucky to be in. I have a keen interest in sport and play for Na Fianna GAA. Something I share with many of the children who come to Little Learners. Being a part of the team in Little Learners and getting to work with a group as friendly and as special as the one we have now is a privileged position. Most of all, the children I encounter day in day out had reaffirmed my passion to continue to work with children and most of all to do so in Little learners”
Noelle is our Afterschool Leader. "Working with Little Learners and being a part of a growing, enthusiastic and rewarding team is everything I could have hoped for! I believe in creating a positive, fun and engaging atmosphere for children. I love seeing the children develop into their own independent selves. I have always wanted to work with children and love that every day is so different! Working with children and helping them achieve their full potential is so important to me. My passion for the afterschool is what drives me to really think about creativity, sensory activities and to be a good leader for the children. It is the most wonderful career and I am so lucky to be part of such an amazing team. I love it!"
"I truly believe in the power of the arts, especially when working with children. When studying Drama and Performance I was pushed out of my comfort zone and thrust into the spotlight- quite literally! However when I graduated I was much more confident and most importantly I believed in myself. It is this confidence and belief that I hope to pass on to each and every child who attends my classes at Stay and Play. Having only been with Stay and Play for a little while and I can honestly say I absolutely love it! So far we’ve staged two magnificent shows and the only way is up. It is truly a privilege to get to know the children and observe them developing their own stage personas and presence. I believe the greatest tool we have in life is our voice and with that in mind I also believe that every child deserves the opportunity to use their voice both now and in the future with confidence and belief in themselves, and drama is a great gateway into doing so. They might be a bit too young to understand now but I hope someday in the future they too will understand the power of the arts in its many amazing forms!"

"I realized I had a love for working with children from a young age as there was always children in my house growing up due to my mam being a childminder. My first love however is Irish dancing. I started when I was 3 and I’m still doing it to this day. I have gotten to see the world with my dancing group. After finishing my degree in Early Childhood Care and Education in ITB. I find it is very important for children to learn through play and in a creative working environment. I have the joy of watching the children develop new experiences and grow into confident individuals. I am very grateful to be joining the Little Learners team and see all the children in my care reach their potential"
"My passion for working with children flourished from an early age through, imaginary play to a dream I can proudly say achieved. I am a recent graduated from DIT with a Level 8 in Early Childhood Education. This course emphasized my love for working with children and the joy it brings my own personal life. Children are unique and the utmost paramount consideration in the classroom environment. I believe children’s development does not occur in isolation however it is influence by the context in which its is surrounded in, ie family home preschool. Therefore I strive to engage and gain positive interactions and secure relationship with each child in my classroom. These are crucial for the development of the child. The child has a voice to be heard, Lundy 2007, “the voice is not enough” proposed a model with four factors, Space, Audience, Voice, Influenced. There using this model and actively listening to the voice and promoting learning experiences that will scaffold the child’s interest are essential to children self esteem and belief of learning in a fun manner. Therefore observations are not enough, I am responsive teacher that is reflective and plan to expand learning by providing lesson plans that are engaged in the child’s interest. I’m an active advocate for assessment for learning. Each child needs to grow and develop in a world that acceptable to their ideas no idea is a bad idea. I want to reverse I Can’t with I can. Each child deserves the opportunity to be confident and competent learners. I’m proud to be part of team in Little Learners, I truly believe that doors of Little Learners can provide a child with happy memories and positive outlook to learning"

"I completed my degree in Early Years and Childhood Studies from UCC in 2015. I thoroughly enjoyed my studies as I have such a passion for early years education. I believe that it is so important for a child to really enjoy their first experience of education as this benefits them in many ways later in life. When I began working in Little Learners, I instantly felt part of something special. Here at Little Learners, both the teachers and children are encouraged to be themselves. The setting provides such a lovely environment for children to learn and grow. I firmly believe that children should be granted the opportunity to explore their own interests and ideas in a fun way at preschool. It is such a privilege to be able to provide this and help them to develop into independent individuals"
